an interactive outdoor family show telling stories from the forest

An interactive & experiential outdoor dance theatre show exploring our relationship with nature. Co-created with visually impaired children in 2022.

Crunch! is a unique and magical adventure using using live co-creation. Connecting with the senses through textural interactions, audible soundscapes, creative audio description & joyous dance performance!

This show particularly welcomes visually impaired, neurodiverse and SEND children and families.

“Loved the narrator holding the story and space, and the amazing dancers!”

“We loved the interactive dancing afterwards”

“Loved taking in the beautiful elements of movement music and description and seeing my god daughters reactions.”

“You could just see how captivated the children were.”

The audio description made the performance come to life more for my daughter but as a dyslexic adult it did the same for me too.”

how we made the show

In 2022, we delivered workshop event days with visually impaired children and families at Westonbirt Arboretum.

The creative contributions from the families have informed the artistic processes in making Crunch.

We also delivered workshops with Cirencester Opportunity Group and with Interdepen-Dance of Cirencester Dance Club. All workshops have contributed to how we make an interactive and textural performance in nature.
